Personal information protection principles
SB Power Corp. (hereinafter ‘SB Power’ or the ‘Company’) makes every effort to comply with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information (Act No. 57; May 30, 2003)—Guidelines on the Act on the Protection of Personal Information for the economy and industry sector—and other personal information protection guidelines established by the regulatory authorities and strives to protect personal information in the following ways:
1. Strengthening employee training
SB Power will prepare learning materials on the protection of personal information and distribute them to all employees (including temporary employees). The company will conduct training for all employees (including temporary employees) who handle personal information, at least once a year.
2. Establishment of internal rules concerning the protection of personal information
SB Power will establish internal rules and regulations regarding the protection of personal information, set forth a clear policy on the handling of personal information, and take steps to ensure that everyone at the Company understands that the Company will take a strict stance against leaks of personal information.
3. Implementation of appropriate information security measures
SB Power will take necessary and appropriate measures to prevent leakage, loss or damage of personal information and to otherwise safely manage personal information, such as managing access to personal information, restricting the taking of personal information from the Company’s premises or servers, and taking measures to prevent unauthorized access from outside the Company.
4. Business outsourcing

The handling of personal information may be entrusted to external partners, in whole or in part, in the sale of various services, the supply and procurement of electric power, the completion of applications associated with the provision of various services, response to inquiries, and in billing, marketing, and other operations.

When engaging in a business outsourcing contract, the eligibility of the external partner will be thoroughly assessed. In the business outsourcing contract, SB Power will stipulate safety management measures, confidentiality, conditions for sub-subcontracting, and other matters related to the proper handling of personal information, and will appropriately supervise the subcontractor by periodically monitoring the status of the order.

SB Power will use the personal information provided (or entrusted) to us by the outsourcer only to the extent necessary to fulfill the terms of the contract with the outsourcer.
5. Improvement and enhancement of audit system
SB Power will establish an internal audit system to ensure personal information is being properly protected.
6. Appropriate collection, use, provision and disclosure of personal information
When collecting personal information, the purpose of use shall be made clear, and the information shall be obtained by legal and fair means, through application forms and other documents, website pages, or orally. Moreover, the use, provision and publication of such information shall be carried out appropriately, taking into account the nature and scale of the business.
7. Continuous improvement of personal information protection
SB Power will continuously review and aim to improve the measures listed in 1 – 6 above.
8. Revisions and amendments
SB Power may occasionally revise all or part of these Personal Information Protection Principles. The Company will provide notification of important changes in an easy-to-understand manner on the Company’s website and other channels
What the Personal Information Protection Principles cover
The ‘personal information’ in these Personal Information Protection Principles refers to information about an individual—whether a customer of SB Power or an employee of a business partner or SB Power—that can be used to identify the individual by name, date of birth, or other description, or by a number, other code, image or voice assigned to the individual (this includes information that cannot be used to identify an individual by itself, but can be easily cross-referenced with other information, thereby enabling the individual to be identified).
